Object and subject of the project
- The object of research is the emergence, confirmation, and development of modern cooperative cooperative models of doing business in Bulgaria and the variety of cooperative business models.
The subject of research is multi-component, which includes the main characteristics and the design of the elements of the cooperative movement/system and its core – the cooperative.
Scientific research tasks:
To achieve the main objective and sub-objectives and to verify the hypotheses, the following leading tasks are set:
1. to formulate definitions of basic concepts;
2. to identify criteria for determining the kinds and types of cooperatives (cooperative models), and on their basis to give the relevant both kind and type classifications;
3. to identify and analyze the change in the characteristics of the main elements of the cooperative movement/system in the separate historical periods and to compare the changes;
4. to derive and analyze the dynamics of cooperative values and principles;
5. to carry out a descriptive analysis of the main kind and types of cooperatives, determining the variety of cooperative models for doing business in Bulgaria during the individual historical periods;
6. to analyze the legal and regulatory framework for establishing and developing the cooperative movement/system and cooperatives;
7. to analyze the characteristics, development, and innovations in the internal and external cooperative governance structure of the main types of cooperative models of doing business operating in Bulgaria and to establish their potential – does it correspond to the goals set in the strategic documents;
8. to examine the relationship between the economization of cooperative business models and the modification of the cooperative governance structure;
9. to propose cooperative models of doing business with the potential to implement innovative management solutions under the goals set in the strategic documents;
10. to formulate recommendations to the stakeholders in the non-governmental and governmental sectors for increasing the potential of cooperative models of doing business in Bulgaria for the implementation of innovative solutions.
