About project
In today’s conditions, when worldwide income inequality is increasingly increasing, managerial solutions to overcome this problem can be provided by the cooperative business model, which has subordinated its activity to internationally established cooperative principles and values. They distinguish the cooperative business model from any other business model. Cooperative principles stipulate that membership in cooperatives does not discriminate against anyone and is open to anyone who accepts them.
Membership in cooperatives provides access to the creation of goods and leads to a reduction of social inequality in society. The third cooperative principle states: “Members fairly participate in and democratically manage the capital of the cooperative”, so the focus of cooperative activity is not capital, but the person. Through the seventh cooperative principle “Community Care” – cooperatives stimulate social equality and contribute to the sustainable development of local communities – in a social, economic and ecological aspect. The cooperative business model is vital and adaptable to the challenges of the time, it has successfully imposed itself in various spheres of socio-economic life around the world and will reasonably continue to be applied in the future.
The motto of our research work is: “INTELLIGENCE + INFORMATION + IDEAS = ADDED VALUE“, borrowed from the concepts of Charles Handy.
